Bob returns to his Hockey roots:
Since 1977, Bob has worked with thousands of talented athletes, coaches, managers, executives and professionals in the world of business, college/university and sports particularly hockey. Bob was one of the first coaches to enter the CAHA now Hockey Canada – Elite Hockey Development Coaches program receiving his NCCP Level 5 Hockey Technical certification in 1979. Since then he has worked with hundreds of Coaches and thousands of elite amateur and professional athletes.
Bob has Mentored and Worked with some of the best Hockey Coaches in Canada/USA:
Bob’s Coaching expertise was developed working with and mentoring with the likes of: Dave King (then National Team Coach), Ron Smith (ED of HDCO, Maple Leafs NHL), Ron Mason (All time wins as coach at MSU in NCAA), Clare Drake (Hockey Canada U17 Development Program and U Alberta), Jacques Martin (St. Louis, Ottawa NHL) and Dave Chambers (York U, Quebec and Minnesota NHL) just to name a few.
He honed his expertise coaching youth hockey in Scarborough and Windsor, Junior Hockey with Oshawa and CIS Hockey with Windsor and York University. As a coach in the Elite Development program in the 1980’s Bob was an assistant coach at the U17 and Jr. National Development Training Camps leading up to the 1984 and 1988 Olympics. From 1979-2008, he was a Master Coach Facilitator for the CAHA and the CAC-NCCP teaching at 100’s of coaching clinics across Canada. As an NCCP Level 3 Challenge examiner he certified over 50 International Level Coaches of various Canadian Sports. He worked with and operated Huron Hockey and Haliburton Hockey Schools where he worked with Ron Mason and Bill Mahoney who were pioneering the analysis of skating and off-ice strength development. Bob is the author of and editor of numerous coaching articles and manuals including the NCCP Level 1-3 Theory program 2nd edition.

Bob’s Coaching/Mentoring and consulting skills were developed through his years of work in Leadership Performance Development, Succession and Workforce Planning. In the past fifteen years he has coached/mentored Presidents, Senior Executives, Managers and aspiring talent. In addition to his Sports Coaching credentials and experience he holds a Ph.D. in Higher Adult and Lifelong Education & Leadership and Organizational Studies (MSU 2002) and a Master in Human Kinetics & Sports Administration (U Windsor 1977).
As the Principal of the Hockey Consulting and Career Coaching/Counselling program of Hedley and Associates Inc. he is an expert in Motivation, Leadership Effectiveness and team dynamics. He is certified in several Assessment-Feedback-Development systems. He has assisted Coaches and teams in the G.T.H.L. (Greater Toronto Hockey League) C.I.S.-O.U.A.A. and coached/mentored numerous coaches and athletes as they transition from Minor to Junior to College/University to Professional levels of Hockey reintegrating to life after elite sports.
